Ruffian Mani: Estee Lauder Molten Lava

Hi folks! Hope everyone's week is going great..I know mine is, after having Monday's holiday. Today post is a very simple, clean one mostly because I wanted to showcase my #1 high end polish of all times without dressing it up with nail art. (Sidenote: My #1 non-HE polish is Zoya Blaze and my bottle is almost half empty!). I opted for a ruffian mani with Essie Penny Talk to pick up on the warm shimmer in Molten Lava.

Estee Lauder - Molten Lava

Molten Lava is a very dark taupe with warm glowy shimmer that comes out to play in direct light. All pictures were taken under a low intensity bulb and without flash, to show how well the shimmer glows. I used 2 coats of this gorgeous polish over one coat of Essie Penny Talk and I can't say enough about the formula and application. Smooth. Even. Buttery. I do prefer it with top coat to help the shimmer shine through.

Molten Lava is my first - and only - Estee Lauder and I am completely blown away by it. There is something very luxe about the design and the heaviness of the bottle. What are your thoughts on Estee Lauder polishes? I don't hear much about them so I wonder if they are hit and miss or just not talked about as much. Let me know if you have any favourites and I will check them out :)

Thanks for reading!

  1. I don't own any Estee Lauder polishes, but I really love the look you created with this! Somehow those two polishes are so perfectly suited for a Ruffian!
