Jelly Sandwich with Claire's Candy Shop

Happy weekend folks! Today, I have a super cute polish to show you guys that was perfect for a jelly sandwich.

I started with a thin coat of Wet'n'Wild Tickled Pink (previously reviewed here). I then added a coat of Claire's Candy Shop, famous for being a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Candy Shop. The formula of the Claire's polish was nice and the glitters lay flat on the nail. If you use Candy Shop without any pink base, you'll need at least 3 coats because the base is quite sheer. Finally, I topped it with a coat of Wet'n'Wild 2% Milk which is a cream-coloured jelly, perfect for jelly sandwiches.

I find that sandwiching Candy Shop makes it a lot more wearable, because by itself, it looks to me like a messy, shiny glitterbomb. It also means that this way, the glitter won't soak up my hundreds of layers of top coat! I never expected Claire's to have any remotely decent polish. I've had this on for 2 days and not a single chip or tipwear yet! What do you guys think of this look? Any favourites by Claire's?

  1. Love this glitter sandwich! I think sandwiching gives the mani a feeling of depth. Your right it doesn't look like a glitter bomb. Topping it off with 2% is a good idea, it takes the edge off and looks dreamy! Nice job!

  4. Very cute jelly sandwich! I like that you softened the look with 2%! I haven't been to a Claire's in forever! I'll have to look for this one next time I'm at the mall :)

  6. I picked this up shortly from seeing it on your blog. Claire's also has a set called Sugar High that contains similar polishes. They all have a bright yet sheer base packed with loads of fun glitter! I had to get the set too!
