Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In honour of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I've done a pink ribbon manicure today. Breast cancer runs in my family and my grandmother battled it (and defeated it!) decades ago. The biggest challenge with the  breast cancer campaign is to not let it be about the pink merchandise and marketing, but to be aware of the facts of the disease and how to detect it. The National Breast Cancer Foundation website has a lot of resources such as a detection plan for you, support for those who are battling it, and ways you can contribute towards helping women in need afford mammograms. Please take a couple minutes to check it out! On to the nails then...

For the base, I used Wet'n'Wild Tickled Pink, a baby pink creme that's opaque in 2 coats. This is a great pink staple polish for a super affordable price (around $1.50). For the ribbon art, I used OPI Flower-to-Flower, a darker pink creme with tiny silver shimmer. Here are stand-alone swatches of Tickled Pink:

As always, I used scotch tape for the lines and created this simple Breast Cancer Awareness mani. I hope you enjoyed this post! I'd love to see your BCA nails too :)
